Senior workers have great assets for the workforce. They possess a very strong work ethic and are steady and reliable. The years of experience they have accrued during their careers equates to solid, well thought-out decisions and often they exhibit a mentoring style of interpersonal work relationships that is a big plus.

Too often they are offered only entry level positions in service oriented businesses at low end wages. I believe we need to use the advantages they offer via a life of business involvement to better benefit at a better wage.

For my company a senior Chef brings all the above to the table as well as providing an extremely satisfying client experience resulting in repeat business.

Agatha Christie:

I have enjoyed greatly the second blooming that comes when you finish the life of the emotions and of personal relations; and suddenly find - at the age of fifty, say - that a whole new life has opened before you, filled with things you can think about, study, or read about...It is as if a fresh sap of ideas and thoughts was rising in you.
